Jahan Mein Aisa Kaun Hai...

This is a very important song in my life, because working with Dev Saab has been a mile stone for me. During the shoot of my first film ‘Ishq Ishq Ishq’ in Nepal, some of us were sitting around Dev Saab and chatting. He was sharing moments of his past with us; when someone asked, ‘Dev Saab you don’t sing? And pat, another one corrected, ‘he does… but sometime.’
I was pleasantly surprised that in a few minutes of coaxing he started humming and then sang a song by Asha Bhosle, ‘Jahan Mein Aisa Kaun Hai…’, from Hum Dono. This is the sad version of Mohd. Rafi’s famous ‘Abhi Na Jao Chhod Ke’.
It was surprising that Dev Saab chose an Asha Bhosle song in place of Kishore or Rafi. I guess he must be in love with the situation of this song in the film, which is so very ironic and yet brimming with emotions of love, friendship and hope.
Dev Saab sang it easily and fluently with total control in his voice.
